23/06/2013 | 10 - A way of worshiping nature in the city
I was recently asked, via my blog, by a French architect, whether a study on Indian urbans and their rapport to trees and nature would not be completely "crazy".
I agree that at first sight when you see the mess Indian metros are it seems crazy. And how people throw their trash around like if the streets were a gigantic dustbin.
But on second thought the rapport of Indians to nature is very particular. It is probably the only country I have seen where people build roads around trees (instead of cutting them), as well as houses sometimes. And how many urban people worship trees like this?
These two attitudes may be opposite but India is just about that!! Everything and its opposite are true...
